Tuition is charged at a monthly rate for one half-hour or forty-five minute lesson each week.
Tuition ranges from $60 to $100 per month for weekly third-minute lessons.
Contact your preferred teacher for more information.
Tuition is paid directly to your teacher.
Tuition may be paid monthly or by the semester.
Semester payments are calculated by multiplying the monthly rate by the number of months in the semester.
When tuition is paid monthly, payments are due by the second lesson of each month.
Payments for partial months will be prorated based on when in the month lessons started/stopped.
Lesson Term
Our regular lesson term aligns with the Fall and Spring semester start dates at Tennessee Wesleyan University.
The following dates are announced each semester:
First week of lessons
Last week of lessons
One week at the end of the semester for make-up lessons.
Lesson times may be subject to change from the Fall to the Spring semester.
That said, if you prefer to keep the same time, every effort will be made to accommodate that request.
The summer session consists of five summer lessons to be scheduled with your teacher.
Contact your preferred teacher for more information.
Make-Up Lessons
If you must miss a lesson, please give the teacher as much advance notice as possible.
At least 24 hours is preferred.
The student is guaranteed one (1) make-up lesson per semester for lessons that the student cancels.
If the teacher must cancel a lesson, that lesson will be made up, reimbursed, or credited toward the following month’s tuition.
If a lesson is made up that the teacher cancelled, it will not count toward the 1 make-up lesson that is guaranteed each semester.
Steps to Success:
All Students:
Come to lessons prepared, having practiced the assignment and with all materials including music and a notebook.
Recital, clinic, enrichment class, and masterclass participation is not required, but is strongly encouraged.
In case of an extreme situation with illness (e.g., another pandemic-level situation), the teacher may choose to teach lessons online for a time.
Let’s hope not–but these days we need to include this clause.
Please do not come to your lesson if you are sick.
Take care of yourself and prevent the spread of illness.
Piano students:
Keep fingernails short to avoid problems regarding technique and the irritating clicking sound that comes from long nails.
Voice students:
Try your best to practice good vocal health, especially immediately prior to a lesson.
Drink lots of water, avoid dairy (immediately before singing–your morning cereal and milk is fine!), and get plenty of rest the night before your lesson.
Hopefully this doesn’t apply to our younger students, but coffee, alcohol, and smoking also need to be avoided.
